So; The Mongol China game DMed by Messr Fukes has been restarted now he has returned from canada and I am playing a completely different character from before - due to party makeup it was sensible to 'retire' Jin Re Sco, my Tempest/Dervish and play another character for a while until the party stabilises once again. This time it's a conjuration focused Druid who is so far out of the social loop that he seems to come back from the other side and fit in nicely. However I still want to continue playing Jin in the event he will return to join the party... So what has happened to him?
Well, while the game is progressing I'll be paying more attention to this new druid who after one session seems incredibly versatile and alot of fun to RP but how about the other 6 days of downtime? I half thought about running a separate game with Fukes but that would take away from his already limited free time so I chose not to even ask him (though I admit to hinting once or twice :D).
I also thought about running him in the background of the main game as a 'PNPC' (like a DMPC but reversed) but this would mean effectively running two strong characters at once and as much as I would like to keep the two separate I know that I would fall into the trap of metagaming what either character would know.
Really though working out how to accomplish this was alot simpler than I first thought since I was effectively doing it anyway. I just have to keep up the session logs but rather than base them around the individual successes and failures of a dice roll I would just bullshit it entirely. Take away the crunch from a Roleplaying Game and all you're left with is a collaborative story. So I started writing one...
