While I was pondering this stranger in our midst, a strange rumbling sound could be heard from the tunnel. Now I knew this was not a Thoqqua as they sortta squelch as they tunnel. As the other members of the party pondered what this could possibly be, a bulge appeared in the middle of the tunnel. Suddenly a strange huminoid beetle appeared in a shower of dirt. The rest of the party looked kinda worried, I was downright scared! Before anything could happen, I cast 'Charge of the Triceratops' onto the 'Anger'. Great spell but it does make him look funny with two great big horns growing out of his head! We attacked! Unforunately, a member of our party looked into it's eyes and started to look all confused. I was hid round the corner at this point so I decided to send Yami in to say hello! After attacking this creature relentlessly, we finally brought it down! Hurrah, the ranger done his super, duper skinning job and voilla, we were left with a great piece of hard skin. What they want it for I don't have a clue! While we were celebrating, there came rumbling from further down the tunnel. We prepared ourselves as a second creature emerged. We attacked again and I cast 'Snakes Swiftness' on the party. This enabled the party to all get another attack in before the creature could attack us. Yami dived in, the ranger fired as did the others but the 'Anger' hung back. I was confused, he is usually the first to go into combat. Then it occured to me! He was waiting for the creature to get past the rubble and the body of the first creature! The new creature moved towards us and he was off! He slammed into his target like an unstoppable juggernaught. His horns flashing in the remaining light. I cast 'Spiritjaws' and hurt the creature. Unfortunately, it did not hold on! Our confused member started to babble incoherently and became useless. The creature attacked the 'Anger' to no effect. After everyone else had shot at the creature, the spiritjaws clamped down once again and severed the creature in two.
Our Ranger friend then let us know that there was a possiblity of treasure if we were willing to dig for it. Stupid question, of course we dug! I summoned a little Earth Elemental to help us on the way while the ranger kept us in food and drink. We got to the bottom of the shaft and entered some sort of cavern. The 'Anger' decided to climb back up the shaft to see how the ranger was. Suddenly, i could hear shouting down the tunnel in a weird, squeky voice. The Bard started to shout back. Gods know what she was saying. All at once, there was a bang and the shouting stopped. Don't know what happened after that but the Ranger did sound a little peeved.
Any way, we sorted out the treasure and have yet to decide what are next step is!
